Earlier this month, Sophie Cunningham joined some of the most popular football players on Google's top 10 most searched athletes list, headlined by Shedeur Sanders in first place. On. Nov. 4, Google released its annual search recap, "Year in Search," on its "Trends" website.
The Fever guard reacted to her inclusion on the list on Thursday's episode of the "Show Me Something" podcast. Sophie Cunningham's co-host, West Wilson, asked the Fever guard for her feelings on being on the list.
"I really don't know how to feel about that. I mean, it's kind of cool, I guess, like you're the only female up there. So that was pretty cool, but there is no real feeling towards it," Cunningham said.Later, Wilson said that he considered the Fever guard established as she had bagged a second contract. However, Cunningham had a different take on the subject.
"Does that mean I am a late bloomer though? because if I am on my second contract, it takes a lot more for people to know who I was," she said.Wilson then told the Fever guard that last season she had moments in the league that bolstered her popularity among the fans. Cunningham agreed with her co-host's take.
Later, Wilson highlighted that Caitlin Clark was not on the list, and if the list featured 15 players, the Fever superstar would have been on it. Sophie Cunningham agreed with her co-host and said that Clark's popularity blew up when she was in college.
Sophie Cunningham beats Shedeur Sanders' brother Shilo Sanders on a major list
Later in the podcast episode, Sophie Cunningham's co-host, West Wilson, was surprised to see Shedeur Sanders' brother, Shilo Sanders, on the list. Sophie Cunningham held the seventh place on Google's top 10 most searched athletes list, while Shilo Sanders held the eighth place.
On Wednesday, Cunningham summarized her initial reactions to her placement on the list in two words. She shared her reaction on her Instagram story.
"hi boys🤠🤟🏻" she wrote.

In August, Shilo Sanders threw a punch at Buffalo Bills' Zach Davidson during a preseason game between the Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sanders was ejected from the game following the altercation. The Buccanners waived the rookie after the incident.
