Sons of The Forest: How to get the Rebreather

The Rebreather in Sons of the Forest is one of the most important and useful items when you can get it in-game. It provides oxygen and a tiny source of light when you're underwater, once equipped from the inventory. However, it takes up no equipment slots. When it runs out of air, it will automatically use a spare air bottle from the inventory.

That said, here's how to get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest, and where to find it.

The first step to getting the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest is taking a long walk to the northernmost tip of the map. Refer to the above image for a reference point. Next to the shoreline, you will come across a cave (before you ask, yes, it will be filled with cannibals - surprise).

To get the item, you will need to enter the cave (remember to get a steady source of light, as it is pitch dark in there). Once inside the cave, go straight until you find flowing water. Follow it until the very end, until you reach dry ground. Keep in mind that you will encounter cannibals, so be prepared for a fight. Go upward, and keep to the right side of the cave until you see a narrow passage.

As you exit the passage, you will find an open space with a pool of water at the bottom. There will be a shark inside the water; you may want to dispatch the creature before putting your toes in. To get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest, get down to the edge of the water, and you will find it lying on the ground next to other items.

Once you get the Rebreather, jump into the water, and follow the underwater path to exit the cave. It's a long swim, so take your time. It will exit at the same beach where you began your journey to get the item.
