F1 fans online have shared their reaction to Lewis Hamilton's latest social media post, in which the Ferrari driver can be seen in New York, United States of America. Fans have pointed out that the Briton had claimed he was going to stay away from social media during the winter break after the final race of the 2025 season at Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton had a tough time on track during his first season with Ferrari in 2025, as the season ended with him not even standing on the podium once throughout the year. After this, the 7x world champion had claimed that while he usually would go onto social media in the off season, he was not going to open his phone up at all and unwind without going online.
But the driver has been active on Instagram and X since, and even shared an image of himself enjoying his time out in New York on Saturday.
F1 fans online saw the funny side as many of them pointed out that Hamilton had already broken his promise of staying off social media over the winter.

It is safe to say the veteran was unable to settle in at Maranello after shifting over after a more than decade-long stint with Mercedes. He will be hoping to bounce back stronger in 2026 amid a new era in F1.

The 41-year-old also responded to other users under his post on X, interacting with his fans online.
A user jokingly mentioned under Hamilton's aforementioned X post that this did not look like a social media detox. The driver replied to this comment saying:
