LA Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts didn’t mince words after another tough night in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday. He admitted to reporters that he’s “just been terrible” after a slump that’s left him searching for answers.

Betts is 3-for-23 in the Fall Classic, with a .130 average.

"I’ve just been terrible," Betts said. "I wish it was from lack of effort, I really do. But it’s not, so I don’t have any answers."

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confident Mookie Betts is ready for Game 6 despite slump

LA Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Mookie Betts isn’t dealing with any injury that could affect his performance.

'He’s physically fine and will start Game 6,” Roberts told reporters on Wednesday." He acknowledged the mental side of the slum and added: "I think you can see there’s a little anxiousness in there."

Despite the Dodgers trailing the World Series 3-2 after Wednesday's defeat, Roberts remains confident heading into the elimination game.

"There’s a fight in there," Roberts said. "There’s more in there, we’ve won two games in a row. It comes down to one game."

A resurgent performance from Betts would be critical to forcing Game 7, as the veteran outfielder has been largely ineffective through the series. Roberts’ comments highlight LA’s belief that Betts’ talent and experience can still swing the momentum in its favor.
