Yeah.

…your album just hit No. 1 on our Top Dance/Electronic chart. It’s your first big debut there.

Slayyyter 

Yeah.

Tetris Kelly 

So how are you feeling about that and your journey to this point?

Slayyyter 

I am pretty shocked. It’s great. I never expected this album to have the response it’s had, but I’m very honored. I love that everyone’s connecting with it so much and, like, responding well to it. Yeah.

Tetris Kelly 

I mean, you described the album as kind of like a portrait of a Midwest girl, right?

Slayyyter 

Yeah.

Tetris Kelly 

But who is the worst girl in America? Like what, what is the descriptor of that title alone?

Slayyyter

She’s me in a lot of ways, but it also can just be a small-town girl or guy, just like a suburban… Being from, like, a small place, a small town or, like, you know, a mundane area of the Midwest, or wherever, it doesn’t even have to be the Midwest. And just being, like, a little too much. I think being a little too loud, a little too drunk at things, a little too crazy, a little too tacky. Maybe not the most stylish, but you know, you have your friends and you, like, put on your jean shorts that you, like, picked up off the floor and you just kinda live your life and dream about other things, I guess. That’s kinda like what the worst…That’s like the ethos of everything.
