A popular star's AEW contract status was reportedly revealed. Fans have now given their thoughts on this.

Danhausen is one of the most beloved wrestlers in the world. Fans love his quirky and funny gimmick, where he often curses his opponents. Hence, when he finally joined All Elite Wrestling, fans were excited that they were going to witness his antics on a daily basis. Initially, he formed a good pairing with the Best Friends. However, he stopped featuring on TV in 2023. In fact, his last match for the company was at Worlds End 2023. While he has competed on the independent circuit, Danhausen hasn't stepped back inside the Jacksonville-based promotion's ring, leaving many fans to wonder why this was the case.

It was recently reported that Danhausen's AEW contract is set to expire in February 2026.

AEW star Danhausen reportedly won't feature in the 2026 Royal Rumble match

With reports of Danhausen's contract coming to an end, fans are interested to know if there is a possibility that he shows up at the 2026 Royal Rumble. However, a new report suggests otherwise.

During a recent Fightful Select Q&A session, a fan asked if Danhausen could feature in the 2026 Royal Rumble match. Sean Ross Sapp replied that the chances of that happening are slim since Tony Khan needs to release him.

"Barring some trickery, I don't think he would be able to do the 2026 Royal Rumble. I think it's a bad mark on AEW that they extended his contract due to injury time with absolutely no plans to use him, and with him wanting to be let go. What purpose does that serve? Just let the guy go. It's just a waste of money. If he doesn't want to be there and you don't want to use him, cut him loose. Him getting an AEW release is about the only way that could happen, which honestly isn't out of the realm of possibility," said Sapp.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Danhausen.
