Shohei Ohtani needed early morning IV’s after historic World Series performance

Shohei Ohtani received IV’s following his amazing, record performance in Game 3, which was the day before his start.

Ohtani lasted into the seventh inning despite needing medical attention into the early morning that same day (the IV’s were administered after midnight). Ohtani didn’t do interviews following his historic Game 3, when he reached base nine times out of nine, and it was first thought he had left early to catch up on sleep. But he was witnessed being hustled out by Dodgers security past about 1 a.m. local time — an hour after the game — after having been in the trainer’s room since his enthralling, exhausting performance.

“I need to go to bed,” Ohtani said on the field following his impossibly successful nine plate appearances (nine times reaching base).

But first he stopped for treatment.
