It had been a while, but Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors finally put it all together to snap a six-game road skid on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Dubs needed some kind of positive response after their humiliating 126-102 loss to the OKC Thunder on Tuesday. It certainly didn’t look like they'd make amends for that beatdown. However, more bad turnovers had led them to trail by as many as 16 points in the contest.
But then they turned things around in a manner they hope is a harbinger of things to come, as they mounted a stunning third-quarter comeback, culminating in Curry scoring 22 points in the third quarter, which ignited a fire under a team that was on the verge of collapse. The Warriors outscored the Spurs 43-28 in the third quarter to secure the 125-120 win.

The four-time NBA champion was shirtless in the video on his way to the locker room. The Warriors posted the clip of the Curry moment on their Instagram account.
Steph Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry, reposted the clip on her IG story and wrote in the caption:
“Ummmm I just melted 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤”
Ayesha Curry ‘Melted’ Over Shirtless Steph Curry After Historic 40-Point GameCurry led the team with 46 points, five rebounds and five assists while shooting 52.0% from the field. Jimmy Butler added 28 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the win.
While the win was great, it unfortunately doesn’t get any easier for the Dubs, as they have four more games on the road, with the Spurs again on Friday.
Steph Curry Chases History as Michael Jordan’s Unique Record Is on the Cusp of Being Broken
Steph Curry stands on the brink of breaking Michael Jordan’s all-time record for the most 40-point games after turning 30. The record is currently held by the Bulls legend, who reached the landmark with 44.
The Warriors’ talisman already has a frankly ridiculous 40-point game, and that ratio looks even better considering he’s still 37 years old.
Curry’s Wednesday 46-point outing is his 43rd after turning 30. He's now on pace to break Jordan’s elusive record this season. This is also Curry’s first 40-point outing this season.
If there are more games like against the Spurs, it's a matter of when, not if, Curry reaches more 40-point games and beyond.
