Sheduer Sanders given vote of confidence from Browns decision maker ahead of QB1 move

Shedeur Sanders' chances of becoming the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns remain in question, with many suggesting he won't win the job.

Sanders is currently battling it out with Deshaun Watson for the QB1 job, with the expectation that the veteran Watson could win it because of his contract situation. The Browns also seemingly believe that Watson can still figure things out after signing him to a massive contract after one of the worst trades in NFL history.

It's rather tough to say what's going to happen, as a lot still needs to play out.

However, general manager Andrew Berry recently spoke about Sanders and his performance throughout the early offseason, and he's seemingly impressed with what the young man has done.

"Shedeur, he's made incredible strides over the last eight weeks," Berry said during an interview with ESPN's Peter Schrager, H/T Bleacher Report. "Really, really pleased with his progress. He's naturally accurate as a quarterback. His command of the operation, control of the huddle, all of those things. You can tell with a year under his belt, he's making those strides."

Hearing that Sanders is making strides is very important for the Browns, even if they don't believe he'll be a starter this season.

Having Sanders in the wings once the Watson situation is resolved, even if it means he starts this year, is a better outcome than what the Browns are currently dealing with. Cleveland has been seeking a franchise quarterback for a very long time now, and whether Sanders is that this year or in the future, that would be positive for the Browns.
