Compared to her first offseason, Caitlin Clark has been very silent in her second offseason. A major reason for her absence from public appearances and golf courses, which she loved visiting last season, is her injury.

The Fever guard is nursing a recurring groin injury that kept her out on the sidelines for the majority of the 2025 season. Clark has been working to get better so that she can return to the court as soon as possible.

However, the Fever superstar made a surprise appearance at an Eli Lilly event on Monday. Clark was accompanied to the event by her fellow teammates and Indiana guards Aari McDonald, who is also recovering from a broken right foot, and Kelsey Mitchell.

Today, Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald visited @EliLillyandCo for a surprise spotlight conversation with employees about teamwork, resiliency and pushing through challenges this season 🎤🏀

The fans online were delighted to see their favorite female basketball player at the event. The Fever shared a picture of Caitlin Clark and her teammates at the event on their X account, and the fans flooded the comment section with their opinions.

"SHES ALIVEEEEEEE," one fan said. "Proof of life 🙏" another fan said. "That's our championship guard trio🔥🤞🏽🔥" another fan said.

Another set of fans interpreted McDonald's apperance as a sign of her staying with the Fever for the next season.

"So what I’m hearing is Aari is staying 😌" one fan said.

So what I’m hearing is Aari is staying 😌

"Aari is not leaving. Unless another team backs up that Brinks truck on her driveway. She fits the program," another fan said. "Fever are the happiest and most united team in the league," another fan said.

Fever coach shares positive update on Caitlin Clark's recovery

Fever coach Stephanie White appeared as a guest on IndyStar's "Fever Insider Live" show on YouTube on Wednesday. During her appearance, league insider Chloe Peterson asked the coach for an update on Caitlin Clark's rehab progress and how close she was to playing 5-on-5 basketball.

In her answer, White did not make any promises about a return timeline, but revealed that Clark's overall progress was positively on the right track.

"We're not jumping into anything that's too much right now. We have the ability right now to take it on a week-by-week basis and do some 3-on-3, doing some 2-on-2, building into 5-on-5," She said. (Timestamp: 25:52) "Her being able to play in game-like situations is going to be important. It's been a long time building back into that, but it is October. She needs to be able to slowly build back so that from an endurance standpoint, she's laying a really good foundation so that we're not having any setbacks or any regression."

The Fever made a deep playoff run without Caitlin Clark, so it would be interesting to see their potential once their star guard returns to the court at her best.
