Shai Gilgeous-Alexander broke headlines by becoming the only player to exceed Wilt Chamberlain's streak of consecutive 20+ point games. It has been an impressive run by SGA because it shows his consistency and natural scoring ability.
Despite the hype surrounding the streak, Gilgeous-Alexander himself does not care much about it. That was surprising, but most Oklahoma City Thunder fans know SGA focuses on getting big wins rather than individual performances.
Gilgeous-Alexander does not care much about his streak
Over the years, the NBA has grown accustomed to seeing Gilgeous-Alexander showcase his amazing talent. He is one of the best offensive players in the league today, especially with his natural scoring ability.
He has become more diverse with his scoring, as he is now a true three-level scorer with his ability to slash, step-back, and hit jump shots from both the mid-range area and beyond the arc.

In their most recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, the Thunder did not have a true standout scorer. Chet Holmgren scored 21 points, while SGA scored only 20 to maintain his streak.
There were plenty of concerns about SGA not continuing his streak. However, Gilgeous-Alexander would not have minded if his streak ended.
"Those type of things have never mattered. If I have a night like I had tonight and we win the way we win tonight for the rest of the season, I'll be the happiest guy on earth. The winning is all that matters," SGA said about his amazing scoring streak.
Now that he has sole grip on the streak, SGA would probably be okay with losing it. However, he will play the type of basketball that will help the Thunder win. If that requires him to be more of a playmaker like he did against the Timberwolves, he will do what is required of him.
