The bracket is set, and it is time to dive into the 2026 March Madness.
The 68-team field has been concocted by the selection committee, and we not only know the first-round matchups but also each team's path to the national championship game. The top four seeds were awarded to Duke, Arizona, Michigan and Florida and they each earned the No. 1 seed in one of the four regions.
HISTORY OF UPSETS BY SEED:
16 vs. 1 | 15 vs. 2 | 14 vs. 3 | 13 vs. 4 | 12 vs. 5
Given that they are the top seeds for the overall field, they have the best odds to win the tournament as a whole. All four No. 1 seeds have made the Final Four just twice in the tournament's history, so there is bound to be a shake-up somewhere, which gives a team that isn't No. 1 the chance to compete at least in the semifinals, with the possibility of winning the national championship if they can catch fire at the right time.
With that in mind here is more on the updated odds for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Updated March Madness odds 2026
Duke is the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Blue Devils enter with the best odds of winning the national championship, installed at +300. Michigan (+350), Arizona (+390), and Florida (+750) round out the No. 1 seeds. Florida is the lone No. 1 seed that didn't even appear in its conference's tournament championship game, but losses by Houston, Iowa State, Illinois and UConn kept any of them from jumping past the Gators.
Florida and Houston were the 2025 national championship matchup. The Gators were victorious and cut down the nets, while the Cougars came up just short in the 65-63 loss. Houston made the 2026 NCAA bracket as a No. 2 seed and has the fifth-best odds to win the national championship. Both the Gators and Cougars are in the South Region and there could be a championship rematch in the Elite Eight.
The Blue Devils, with the best odds, would suggest they have the easiest path to winning the national championship, but that isn't true. UConn did lose to St. John's in the Big East conference tournament, but the Huskies are still one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament and would face Duke in the Elite Eight if both make it to that stage. The Blue Devils could also have to face No. 3 Michigan State, No. 4 Kansas, No. 5 St. John's, No. 6 Louisville and No. 7 UCLA in a region with one of the deepest histories in the tournament.
Purdue knocked off Michigan in the Big Ten conference championship. The committee chair admitted that Michigan was likely headed to be the second overall seed, but after the loss to Purdue, fell to the No. 3 1-seed, ahead of only Florida. The Boilermakers also got a boost and were expected to be a three- or four-seed in the tournament, but are now the No. 2 seed in Arizona's region.

While they are a No. 3 seed, it is still weird seeing Gonzaga not as a 1-seed. While the Bulldogs don't have the best roster they have had in recent years, they know what it takes to get hot in March and go on a deep run. Gonzaga is the biggest threat to both Purdue and Arizona, and is a sneaky pick at +4000 to cut down the nets in the end.
Oddsmakers are not feeling the Miami (OH) hype. Despite the RedHawks' undefeated regular season, Miami (OH) has +150000 odds to win the national championship, and isn't even favored to win their play-in game against SMU. The RedHawks are 7.5-point underdogs before even making it into the first round.
