Sean Mark’s NBA draft aggressivness could return after Nets’ lottery disappointment

After last week’s NBA draft lottery, the Nets landed on the eighth overall pick. That doesn’t mean they’ll stay there. 

The Nets are one of several teams that came out of Chicago vexed, falling back two spots after being leapfrogged by both the Mavericks and Spurs. It hurt any potential bid for Giannis Antetokounmpo and increased the danger of the prospects most often projected to be drafted by them — Kon Knueppel and Jeremiah Fears — being gone by the time their selection finally rolls around. 

Unless they make a move. 

This year seems likely to be a fairly active draft, and the Nets always makes moves on or before draft night. With a league-high four first-round picks — Nos. 8, 19, 26 and 27 — there long has been a feeling in league circles that they would look to trade one or more of those selections. They could punt one into next year’s draft, but there are increasing rumblings that they could look to move up in this year’s draft.
