Seahawks urged to address position group that was weakest link in Super Bowl

The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl, beating the New England Patriots in a blowout that the 29-13 score doesn't fully reflect.

It was a much bigger win for Seattle than that score indicates. And while they comfortably won, there was one major position group that struggled a ton, and against a better team, could've cost them in the Super Bowl.

Brady Henderson of ESPN is urging the Seahawks to address this position group this offseason. That group? The interior of the offensive line, minus Gray Zabel.

Seahawks urged to upgrade IOL after nearly costly Super Bowl outing

"Improve the interior of the offensive line," Henderson writes, "Right guard Anthony Bradford hasn't been as bad as his worst critics suggest, but the Seahawks need to find someone better. Center is another spot that could be upgraded."

The Seahawks interior offensive line struggled in the Super Bowl, as Milton Williams was dominant all game long against every lineman.

Defensively, the Patriots did their best work rushing through the interior of the offensive line. While the Patriots' offense was terrible, allowing for a more lackluster Seahawks offense to coast, the struggles of the interior of the offensive line are a concern.

Instead of sticking with Anthony Bradford and Jalen Sundell at right guard and center, respectively, the Seahawks should very strongly consider bolstering this group this offseason.

Henderson has it as the Seahawks' second-most important offseason priority, behind only re-signing Rashid Shaheed. But the right guard and center spot could use some improvement going forward.

As seen with Will Campbell (LT) and Jared Wilson (LG) of the Patriots in the Super Bowl, struggling offensive linemen can completely ruin game plans.

Bradford and Sundell held up enough, but if this game were closer and the Seahawks had to throw more often, then they might've been in big trouble with their interior offensive line.

Upgrading at one of those spots, especially right guard, is a roster move that John Schneider could make this offseason. Henderson is hoping the Seahawks make such a choice, as this position group struggling next year could be a disaster for Seattle.
