The Seattle Seahawks have had a busy offseason, with a lot of the focus on bringing in talent to replace the departing veterans after their Super Bowl win.
But now, after the NFL Draft has come and gone, the Seahawks might have a few more moves to make before completing their initial 2026 roster.
ESPN's Brady Henderson shared a rumor about one possible trade that general manager John Schneider might have in the works later this offseason, and it's involving a 2023 fifth-round pick.
Seahawks might trade 2023 fifth-round draft pick
"One potential trade candidate to watch this summer will be center Olu Oluwatimi," Henderson writes. "The 2023 fifth-round pick is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is slated to again back up Jalen Sundell, who beat him out for the job last summer."
While the Seahawks aren't in the business of trading away players who will help them try to repeat as Super Bowl champions, this kind of player would make sense to trade.
Oluwatimi is in the final year of his rookie contract and will be a free agent after the 2026 season. While the Seahawks could keep him as depth, it makes more sense to trade him this offseason.
They aren't likely to get a decent compensatory pick back when he's a free agent in 2027, so if they could get anything back for him now, it would be ideal.

While Henderson notes that the Seahawks "don't seem determined to move Oluwatimi," there is still a path for Schneider to part with the fourth-year center.
Oluwatimi is going to be 27 years old in 2026, and while he might not be a consistent starter, he has had the chance to make 13 starts over the last three years.
There are teams around the NFL that have questionable center situations, and someone like Oluwatimi might be worth a sixth or seventh-round pick, or a player swap to give Seattle an intriguing depth option.
This might not be the most exciting trade of the offseason for the Seahawks, but as Schneider has shown time and time again, any move he makes could turn into a difference-making one, and an Oluwatimi trade could be just that later this summer.
