The Seattle Seahawks traded for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed during the 2025 trade deadline, but the team will already have to make a decision on his future in the offseason.
Shaheed is set to enter free agency in the spring, and though Seattle could look to retain him, YardBarker's Seth Trachtman predicts the dynamic receiver will pack his bags and head to the Mile High to sign with the Denver Broncos.
Here is what Trachtman said about Shaheed and his potential fit in Denver:
"Shaheed and Sean Payton didn't overlap in New Orleans, with Payton departing following the 2021 season and Shaheed signing out of the draft in 2022. Still, he's likely very familiar with the explosive wideout and kick returner, and Shaheed's skillset would be a perfect fit for a Broncos squad that needs more explosive weapons."
Shaheed hasn't had a very productive 2025 campaign, tallying 499 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season, including just 188 yards with Seattle.
However, the 27-year-old has shown that he can be an explosive playmaker. Shaheed also provides production in the return game, two Pro Bowls, and a first-team All-Pro selection in 2023 for his work on special teams.
In the right offense, Shaheed could blossom into a star playmaker. The Broncos need to supply quarterback Bo Nix with more weapons, and Shaheed would immediately step in as a primary deep threat in Denver's offense.
The Broncos are slated to have $27 million in cap space this offseason. Spotrac projects Shaheed will land a deal worth $42.3 million over three seasons, which averages to $14.1 million annually.
Though Shaheed may not be worth the price for some, the Broncos need receiving talent, and Shaheed still has promise with his game-breaking speed and big-play ability. General manager George Paton should look into signing the speedy receiver.
