Seahawks own one of the most brutal travel schedules for 2025 NFL season

When time ran out in the Seattle Seahawks 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18 last year, we found out every team that Seattle would take on in 2025 and who will be the home team for these matchups.

While we're still waiting for the NFL to announce the full schedule Wednesday night, there's been plenty of information, reports and leaks to keep fans and analysts entertained in recent days.

One interesting aspect of the 2025 schedule that everyone looks at each year is the travel, and on Tuesday, Bookies.com's Bill Speros did the math for how far each team will be traveling.

Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they'll be traveling 31,302 miles this year, which is the third-most in the NFL behind only the Los Angeles Chargers (37,086) and Los Angeles Rams (34,832). Seattle's average trip in 2025 will be 3,448 miles.

The Seahawks' matchup with the Rams is their one road game that's less than 1,000 miles away (730). Conversely, they have five matchups that are over 4,000 miles away, including meetings with the Pittsburgh Steelers (4,263), Atlanta Falcons (4,354), Carolina Panthers (4,561), Washington Commanders (4,659) and Jacksonville Jaguars (4,905).

Seattle could get some assistance with some of this traveling if the actual schedule is favorable for them.

For instance, if the Carolina and Washington games are in back-to-back weeks, the Seahawks could stay somewhere in the vicinity to not have to fly across the country multiple times. The same could be said of their other matchup in the Eastern Time Zone. These opportunities could make it a lot more comfortable the players and allow them to get adjusted to time changes and avoid repeated long flights.

Unfortunately, there's also a chance that the league doesn't do them any favors and sticks these far flights every other week with home games in between, making the travel even harder to deal with. However, the league usually try to assist where and when they can in the schedule-making process.
