The Chicago Cubs are in the lead in the National League Central, up one game on the St. Louis Cardinals with a 24-18 record.
They made a few key moves in the offseason, the biggest ones being the trades for Kyle Tucker and Ryan Pressly. But no team appears to be running away with the NL Central.
However, one big move by either Chicago or St. Louis could drop the hammer on the rest of the division. With St. Louis in transition, Chicago seems more likely to make a splash.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report listed Chicago as a potential landing spot for Rafael Devers if the drama between him and the Boston Red Sox persists.
"They do have Matt Shaw, who is one of the highest rated prospects in all of baseball, maybe tops among those likely to spend the bulk of their career playing third base," Miller wrote.
"But are the Cubs 'no thanks, Rafael Devers, we're set at the hot corner' confident in his future as their third baseman?"

The Cubs could certainly decide to stick with Shaw, but it might not be a bad idea to see if they can pluck Devers away from Boston, especially if he's unhappy with the Red Sox.
Devers is off to a hot start despite the drama. He's hitting .285/.407/.494 with seven home runs, 31 RBI and a .901 OPS.
The three-time All-Star already moved off third base for Alex Bregman, but the Cubs could give him the opportunity to reclaim third base and be the centerpiece of their roster.
A move to acquire Devers would certainly drop the hammer on the rest of the NL Central and could even put the Cubs in the conversation for the World Series.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. It all depends on whether or not Devers asks for a trade.
