Seahawks' Kenneth Walker plan for NFC Championship Game detailed by Adam Schefter

The Seattle Seahawks will be operating short-handed at the running back position in the NFC Championship Game versus the Los Angeles Rams because of the injury to Zach Charbonnet.

Charbonnet left last week's game early due to a knee injury, and while the initial expectation was he'd be OK, that turned out not to be the case and instead the Seahawks running back was diagnosed with a torn ACL, ending his season.

Charbonnet had been splitting work almost evenly with Kenneth Walker during the season, but with Charbonnet out, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Walker will indeed be taking on a workhorse role on Sunday versus Los Angeles.

Schefter adds that Cam Akers and George Holani, the latter of whom just returned from injured reserve this week, will play backup roles.

"With Zach Charbonnet out due to a torn ACL, Kenneth Walker III now will become the Seahawks’ workhorse running back. Both Cam Akers and George Holani are expected to be used in backup roles, with some work expected for each player," Schefter reported.

Walker splitting work with Charbonnet has often been a point of contention for Seahawks fans and last week was a perfect example why.

In the divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers, Walker had a sensational performance, ripping off 113 rushing yards and three scores to go along with 29 receiving yards on three catches.

Walker, who is set to be a free agent this offseason, no doubt helped his stock with that showing, and Sunday presents another golden opportunity for him to up his value for 2026.
