Attendees at Friday’s San Diego Comic-Con 2025 Gen V panel were treated to the first full season 2 trailer for the popular Prime Video show. The Boys spinoff offers a look at young supes in the making, and this second season promises more cameos from the OG show as well as new characters.

Erin Moriarty’s Annie January was one such cameo that made the SDCC crowd cheer, but a surprise greeting from The Seven’s The Deep (Chace Crawford) revealed that he too will be guest starring this season.

Last we checked, Homelander (Antony Starr) has taken over America, which can’t be good for anyone ever. At the college, Hamish Linklater’s Dean Cipher is doing things his way, creating powerful students. His ultimate goal? We shall see. And are his ties to Project Odessa?

“The shows talk to each other. So Season 4 of The Boys sets up Season 2 of Gen V. So now, Homelander has taken over America,” showrunner Michele Fazekas teased. “Now, we get to see what that looks like — what that looks like the country, what that looks like at the school, and then what the resistance is going to start looking like.”

In the trailer, fans will likely have caught a glimpse of Dr. Thomas Godolkin, played by Ethan Slater.

The panel closed with an exclusive, in-room sneak peek at The Boys Season 5, the final season: a new supe character appears to vomit up a bloody hairball, Seth Rogen (executive producer) appears in the teasers, and Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins of Supernatural fame join the show with unknown characters. Showrunner Eric Kripke was also the creator of Supernatural, so it makes sense he’d bring Padalecki and Collins to reunite with Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy)and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler).

Starr’s Homelander continues to be one of the best villains as he takes over the US government to “make America super again.”

Gen V Season 2 debuts on September 17. The Boys is slated to return some time in 2026.
