Scott Laughton still looks happy to be away from Maple Leafs

Scott Laughton apparently understands the importance of making a good first impression in Hollywood.

Because since the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Laughton to the Los Angeles Kings, he's been off to a fast start.

Laughton scored in his first game with the Kings over the weekend.

Then on Monday night, he scored again.

It took Laughton 40 games with the Maple Leafs to score twice, according to Luke Fox of Sportsnet.

And yeah, you can do the Kings math: It's two goals in two games in L.A. for Laughton.

Laughton's main role isn't to be a goal scorer, but he must be a little energized by a move into the middle of a playoff race.

He's more of a grinder, a bottom-six guy who wins faceoffs, plays physical and can kill off penalties.

These goals aren't why the Kings traded for the soon-to-be free agent. They wanted his positive intangibles.

They won't complain about the goals, though. Laughton's scoring is a great bonus.
