Scott Bessent has ripped Gavin Newsom apart in a brutal interview, claiming he has a “glass jaw” and a “slow brain.”

The Treasury Secretary tore into the California governor in a wide-ranging interview with Fox News on Friday morning.

He said: “One thing I’ll tell you, going back to boxing, he cannot take a punch. He likes to dish it out but go for him and he gets completely flustered. You bark at him and he’ll… glass jaw and I think like slow brain.”

It comes as Newsom continues to be a thorn in the side of the Trump administration amid claims he is set to officially announce his run for president.

But on Thursday the Democrat remained tight-lipped when asked by the California Post about his plans, saying only: “It’s wildly premature.”

It led to yet another segue into his upcoming memoir, ”Young Man in a Hurry”, released Feb. 24, and a speech about the Founding Fathers.

He continued: “But there is a book — and by the way, it talks a lot about the Bay Area and our respective histories, and, I’m looking forward to sharing it … and we’ll be on that book tour, this weekend and a little bit through next week.”

Newsom’s book tour starts in Nashville, Tennessee, where he’ll headline a Tennessee Democratic Party fundraiser at the weekend.

It continues in Georgia, South Carolina, and New Hampshire — the latter two being key early voting states in Democratic primaries.
