Some fans see the update as inconsequential and believe that it's Vanderbilt's game to lose.
A fan stated, "Scared of Pavia" One added, "It don’t matter who starts Pavia coming to cook up!!!!!" Another chimed in, saying, "If I was Vandy I’d want arch to play"Arch Manning's status for the game has been anyone's guess. The Longhorns' QB1 suffered a head injury in his side's overtime win against Mississippi State.
However, it looks as though Manning might have cleared the concussion protocol. Texas fans will be paying rapt attention in the lead-up to the crunch matchup to see whether Manning will keep his starting spot or drop down to the bench.
Resurgent Texas up against in-form Vanderbilt in Week 10
The Texas Longhorns entered the season as one of the national championship favorites. They were fresh off consecutive semifinal appearances and had one of the more impressive rosters in football.
However, Steve Sarkisian's side started the season with an away loss to defending national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes. They then put up three consecutive wins before losing to the Florida Gators. That loss left their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
However, the Longhorns have enjoyed an impressive resurgence in form. Steve Sarkisian's side recorded a win over the Oklahoma Sooners, then two consecutive overtime victories over the Kentucky Wildcats and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Their next challenge is a home game against an in-form Vanderbilt Commodores side. The Commodores are 7-1 with their sole loss coming against Kalen DeBoer's Alabama Crimson Tide. They'll pose a tricky test for the resurgent Texas Longhorns at the Darrell K. Royal Stadium.
The winner of the game will enter the last stretch of games with loads of momentum. However, the loser will be left in a precarious position in the ultra-close playoff race.
