San Francisco Giants trade idea sends Heliot Ramos and more for player with best tools in baseball

The San Francisco Giants have made some changes throughout the offseason and are looking to play much better in 2026.

However, there are still some things the Giants need to improve on, and some believe a trade for a potential elite player could help that.

With an already decent offensive core in place, adding a bat like Oneil Cruz could push the Giants into another tier. Cruz, known for his elite power and speed, is the type of player who could be traded because of some struggles.

Thomas Carelli of Sports Illustrated recently proposed a deal that would send Cruz to San Francisco in exchange for Heliot Ramos, Keaton Winn, and Tyler Fitzgerald, so the Giants would have to move a rather big haul.

“The Giants have the potential to find a star in Cruz for a moderate price tag. Their team is prepared to contend as a top-end offense in 2026. If they can add elite power through Cruz, this lineup may go toe-to-toe with some of the best lineups in the MLB. The team would now command a top-5 of: Luis Arraez, Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, Matt Chapman, and Oneil Cruz.”

San Francisco already has a nice offensive lineup, as Matt Chapman, Rafael Devers, and some other guys can really swing it. Adding Cruz to that would only add to what can be a scary team in the NL West.
