The current AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe has been put into a dangerous spot by a top star on Collision. The Samoan Submission Machine could be in big trouble as well.

On the most recent episode of Collision from Cardiff, Wales, Swerve Strickland made his singles return after nearly four months. He squared off against Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family. Following his blockbuster return at Full Gear 2025, where he confronted Samoa Joe, Swerve registered his first singles win against Alexander.

After the match, Swerve made it clear that he has returned for only the AEW World Championship. The Realest also called out the current World Champion, Samoa Joe, saying his days are numbered. Therefore, Joe and his world title reign could be in serious trouble after the warning by Swerve on Collision.

Upon his staggering return at Full Gear 2025, Swerve put Joe on notice following his All Elite Wrestling World title win in the main event. At Dynasty 2024, Swerve defeated Joe to win his first World title. The Mogul's second world title win could be against Joe as well.

WWE Hall of Famer deemed Samoa Joe a gift to AEW

The WWE Hall of Famer and veteran announcer, Jim Ross recently declared the current World Champion, Samoa Joe a gift to Tony Khan's promotion. Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross offered high praise for The Samoan Submission Machine and also declared him a leader:

“He (Joe)’s a warrior. He's special. He's the kind of guy—Tony Khan can't hire too many people like Samoa Joe. He's great, and he's a leader. I think the world of him. He’s a gift to AEW, without question,” JR stated.

Meanwhile, Joe successfully defended his All Elite Wrestling World title against Eddie Kingston at Dynamite: Winter is Coming in his first defense. Who will be Joe's next challenger remains to be seen.
