The New Orleans Saints are picking No. 8 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. It's a solid spot to be, with the options at this pick likely entailing a top wide receiver, one of the top-three edge rushers, or the best cornerback in the class.
Overall, this No. 8 pick is a good spot for Kellen Moore and Mickey Loomis. But, there is seemingly one player the team wants to make it to their pick.
According to ESPN's Matt Miller, the Saints would be "upset" if one wide receiver, Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson, wasn't on the board at their first-round pick. This is a very fascinating report, as it shows a player the team has a significant interest in.
Saints seem to want Jordyn Tyson at No. 8
"The Saints would be upset if Tyson was off the board," Miller writes on the Saints with the No. 8 pick.
This note from Miller came amid a prediction that the team would take Ohio State WR Carnell Tate with the eighth pick, which would not be a bad selection at all.
But Miller, noting the Saints would be upset if Tyson, the Arizona State WR, wasn't on the board at No. 8, is very interesting.
This shows significant interest in Tyson from the Saints. It's not a major surprise, as the Saints are interested in wide receivers in this year's class.
But, for much of the offseason, their target has been Tate, the Ohio State WR. But after an impressive workout, Tyson dispelled the concerns about his injury issues, and looks to be a very highly drafted WR in this year's class.
Tyson caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns last season. If it weren't for injury concerns, he might be a top-10 lock. But the uncertainty has made things tricky.
However, with this report from Miller indicating the Saints would be "upset" if Tyson were off the board come No. 8 overall, they're clearly okay with his injury issues; they would be fine with Tyson going in front of their pick.
