On Thursday, April 23, the Ravens picked up the 5th-year option on wide receiver Zay Flowers, a source tells ESPN.
Drafted in the first round in 2023, Flowers has enjoyed a bountiful career with the Baltimore Ravens. The receiver is coming off a prominent year where he accumulated 86 receptions and 1,211 receiving yards, earning him his second Pro Bowl appearance of his career. The 2025 season marked the second straight year where Flowers caught over 1,000 receiving yards.
In Baltimore, Flowers has risen as the alpha in the receiver room. He and quarterback Lamar Jackson have built a strong chemistry, linking on deep balls and plays over the middle of the field and behind the line of scrimmage. The gadget receiver has been used in a variety of different ways under Todd Monken but will now look to excel under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.
With Jesse Minter taking over as head coach, Flowers and the Baltimore Ravens will look to right the ship in 2026 and get back to the playoffs following a rough 2025 season. With Lamar Jackson fully healthy entering 2026, he will look towards Flowers as his main target in a revitalized offense. Flowers is expected to be heavily featured under Declan Doyle.
Under the 5th-year option, Flowers will be under contract until 2027, earning $27.298 million in the final year. Ahead of the 2027 offseason, Flowers and the Ravens will look towards agreeing on a new long-term contract that will keep the Pro Bowler in Baltimore for years to come.
