Team India defeated Australia by five wickets in the third T20I on Sunday, November 2, at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Courtesy of the victory, India levelled the five-match series 1-1. The opening match got washed out while the hosts won the second T20I.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bowl first in the third T20I. Tim David (74) and Marcus Stoinis (64) smashed blistering half-centuries and helped Australia reach a decent total of 186/6 in 20 overs. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh starred for the visiting team with the ball by picking up three wickets.
In reply, a collective batting effort helped Men in Blue scale down the target in 18.3 overs. All-rounder Washington Sundar top-scored with a blazing knock of 49* (23) in a winning cause for Team India. Arshdeep Singh was adjudged as Player of the Match for his brilliant spell in the first innings.
The third T20I between the two top teams provided entertainment to the fans, who shared their reactions by posting hilarious memes on X (formerly known as Twitter). One such post read:

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh reflected on the loss, saying:
"We thought we were 20 short when we came off. But they bowled really well, we tried allwe could but they were too good. The key takeaway was just that we were 20 short."He added:
"Loved the intent with which we played, the way Tim came out after 2 wickets down and how he played. Stoin (Stoinis) and TD (David) played exceptionally well. Stoin showed his experience. We were hoping he would be available today (speaking about Maxwell) but wasn't to be, he should be good to go in the next one."The Bill Pippen Oval in Gold Coast will host the fourth T20I on Thursday (November 6).
