Former WWE Superstar Ridge Holland has shared some shocking details about a deal the Stamford-based promotion offered him. The real-life Luke Menzies bid adieu to the global juggernaut recently.
Earlier today, wrestling journalist Raj Giri posted an update on X/Twitter claiming that the English star was about to be released last year before WWE offered him a one-year NXT deal. He further noted that the wrestling promotion renewing the contract despite Holland's injury would not have made much of a difference. Giri added that the 37-year-old was never over with the fans but still spent money like he was a big star.
Ridge Holland took to X/Twitter to directly respond to Raj Giri's tweet. The former one-time NXT Tag Team Champion claimed that the wrestling promotion had offered him a three-year contract, and he negotiated to a one-year deal and not the other way around. He explained he did so because the deal came with a pay cut of 50%. Holland disclosed that WWE gave him notice about the non-renewal of his contract four weeks in advance.
"@TheRajGiri You need to stop speaking so confidently about a situation you have ZERO knowledge about. WWE offered me a 3 year deal. I negotiated a 1 year deal as I didn’t want to be tied in for 3 years on 50% of what I’d been earning. I was given 4 weeks notice of non renewal," Holland wrote. You can check out the X/Twitter post below:

While he was recovering from the injury, Holland was informed that his contract, which was set to expire on November 14, would not be renewed. However, he was released from the company reportedly because of his remarks on social media.
Ridge Holland addresses the social media meltdown that led to his early release
Earlier this month, Ridge Holland posted an X/Twitter update claiming that he was in a very bad condition financially after WWE decided against renewing his contract. The former NXT star stated that he felt he had been hung out to dry after he got injured.
However, in a recent interview with TMZ Inside The Ring, Holland confirmed that he was let go before his contract ran out because of his remarks. He blamed himself for the outburst and claimed that he was embarrassed that he let emotions get the better of him.
Ridge Holland spent over seven years in WWE. It will be intriguing to see what's next for the English star.
