Relegated LIV golfer Anthony Kim surpassed Tiger Woods in the Official World Golf Ranking after the Link Hong Kong Open. Kim made his comeback to golf after a decade in 2024 on the LIV Golf. However, he had a tough season and struggled last year and also this season in the Saudi-backed series.

Things turned in his favor at last week's Hong Kong Open, an Asian Tour event, and he made a significant jump in the OWGR. He was ranked 2233rd ahead of the event and, with a T63 finish, he settled at 2003rd.

Anthony Kim beat Tiger Woods in the ranking, as the 15-time major winner is currently ranked 2185th. The five-time Masters winner hardly plays golf these days and is struggling to maintain his ranking.

As reported by Nosferatu on X (formerly Twitter) last month, Woods could run out of the world ranking by the 2025 Masters. They shared a post with the caption:

"Tiger Woods dropped last week outside the top 2000 in the world. It looks now increasingly likely that by the 2026 Masters, he will run out of world ranking points completely... #OWGR"

Tiger Woods has not played in any tournament this season on the PGA Tour and has fallen in the rankings. He was ranked 879th after his outing at The Open Championship 2024, his last appearance on the PGA Tour. Since then, he has slipped down out of the top 2000.

Meanwhile, when Anthony Kim started his professional career, he drew comparisons to Woods. However, following an injury in 2012, he distanced himself from the game and had not played for a decade.
