The Cincinnati Reds outdid umpire CB Bucknor on Saturday.
Nothing captured that fact more than an ABS challenge sequence on back-to-back pitches from slugger Eugenio Suarez.
Suarez faced a 1-2 count in the sixth inning and was rung up by Bucknor, but Suarez tapped his head to challenge the call. It was changed to a ball, making it a 2-2 count.
The very next pitch, Bucknor punched out Suarez again. Suarez challenged again. Suarez was right again.
All told, in Saturday's game between the Red Sox and Reds, Bucknor had eight pitches challenged against him, and six were overturned.
CB Bucknor, a member of a major-league umpiring crew since 1999, had eight calls challenged and a whopping six overturned — including this sequence.

The Reds had it going on all night:
C.B. Bucknor could be the worst to ever do it.

Meanwhile, the Reds had gotten two challenges wrong by the third inning and didn't have them the rest of the game.
The Red Sox blew all their ABS challenges early against the always horrible CB Bucknor and now he’s running amok like Jason Voorhees. I like ABS it’s a brand-new way to get aggravated during a baseball game.

Not a fun showing at all for Bucknor, though.
