Last month, the Boston Red Sox made another addition to their starting rotation, signing right-handed pitcher Walker Buehler to a one-year deal with an option for 2026.
While Buehler is thrilled to be with his new team and teammates, he's hungry for the club to bring in even more talent for the 2025 season and beyond. Speaking on the "Section 10" podcast, Buehler revealed that he's been doing some recruiting since his signing.
“I’ve had two conversations with right-handed hitters about becoming Boston Red Sox," Buehler said. "They are both out of my hands and there’s nothing I can really do about it.”
Buehler has a relationship with free agent third baseman Alex Bregman, who has been linked to the Red Sox quite a bit this offseason. So, it's likely that one of those two is the former Houston Astro. He has connections to a number of other players, so the other could be anyone.
Boston could really use a balanced lineup in 2025, so targeting right-handed bats this offseason makes sense.
