The El Clasico is set to take place in Jeddah as two archrivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona, will face off in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday.

Los Blancos sealed their spot in the Super Cup final after their impressive 3-0 victory over Mallorca in the second semi-final on Thursday. Real Madrid heads into this contest on the back of strong form; they are undefeated in their last eight matches.

Meanwhile, Barcelona enters this contest after picking up a 3-0 victory over Athletic Club in the first semi-final, just 24 hours prior to the second. They have picked up their form in their recent two matches after losing two back-to-back La Liga league matches.

For the third time in a row, these two teams will compete in the Super Cup final. The Catalans won 3-1 in 2023, but Carlo Ancelotti's men got their revenge last year with a 4-1 victory.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona lineups, team news

Luka Modric missed the semifinal due to illness but is expected to be available for the final, giving Madrid a largely clean bill of health.

Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are long-term absentees and remain sidelined from this final match as well due to their knee injuries.

Ancelotti will likely stick with the 4-2-3-1 setup that has restored some of the defensive balance his team were missing in the early part of the season, so he could name an unchanged lineup from the Mallorca game.

Real Madrid predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Courtois (GK) — Vazquez, Tchouameni, Rudiger, Mendy — Valverde, Camavinga — Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius — Mbappe.

Injured: Carvajal, Militao (both knee), Modric (illness, doubt)
Suspended: None

Barca also find themselves at close to full strength, and the temporary reprieve granted by the Spanish court to allow Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to play means both players are available for selection for this game.

Wojciech Szczesny played in goal against Athletic after Inaki Pena fell foul of coach Hansi Flick's strict punctuality rules, but the latter could be restored for the final.

Ronald Araujo will likely not be involved as he negotiates a move away this month.

Barcelona predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Pena (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde — Casado, Pedri — Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Raphinha — Lewandowski.

Injured: Bernal, Ter Stegen (both knee), Christensen (Achilles)
Suspended: None

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona prediction

Los Blancos are undefeated in their last 8 encounters across all the competitions. But Barcelona, as the opposition, has always produced some extraordinary results in the last few encounters. It will be hard to conclude which side will be superior in the final match, but looking at the recent form of Real Madrid, they will have an upper hand going into this match.

Real Madrid might be stressed about the recent injury concerns to their key players against Mallorca in the second semi-final, and they would be hoping for them to recover sooner. We expect a competitive match here in Jeddah, but Real Madrid is likely to emerge as the winner.
