The real reason why former WWE CEO Vince McMahon did not book a dream match featuring The Undertaker has reportedly been revealed. The Lord of Darkness was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed why Vince McMahon never booked Sting to face the veteran while both stars were in the promotion. The wrestling insider shared that McMahon likely didn't see Sting and The Phenom as on the same level, and that is why he didn't book the match.

“That’s a Vince call. And in hindsight, I guess the answer is no. He never saw the big thing in it that a lot of people did. He could have done it. Many people would have wanted him to do it. I don’t think he saw Sting at the level of Undertaker. And he didn’t do it," said Meltzer.

Meltzer added that if someone else had been in charge at the time, the dream match would have likely happened.

"Brock Lesnar is now in that Undertaker category. He's an attraction. And I think attractions have always worked. Hulk Hogan was an attraction for a long time," he said.
