“Terrible officiating” “That call is bullsh*t”: NFL fans rip referee for penalizing P.J. Locke over brutal Trevor Lawrence sack from behind

NFL fans ripped referees over an unnecessary roughness call against Denver Broncos safety P.J. Locke on Sunday. Locke was flagged after hitting Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence after the whistle.

It happened in the first quarter of the Week 16 duel. The penalty helped the Jaguars score a 12-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to Parker Washington.

Many reacted on social media, calling out the officials for mishandling the entire play and its outcome.

"Nobody blew a whistle here on the play where P.J. Locke came free on Trevor Lawrence. Another week of terrible officiating by the NFL," Cody Roark of Mile High Sports wrote.

"That call in P J Locke is still bulls**t and ended in a TD," one fan said. "It's possible P.J. Locke may not have even HEARD the whistle because of the crowd being so loud. And that's a 15-yard penalty against the Broncos as a result. Bad break for Denver there. Jags at the Denver 29 as a result," Andrew Mason of Denver Sports 104.3 said.

More fans joined the conversation and continued to call out the referees.

"terrible call," one fan said."Another refs making themselves the main attraction call," another fan said."That is an absolute joke. Again those idiots refs," another fan said.

The play resulted in a touchdown that gave the Jaguars a 7-0 lead after the first quarter.
