Bam Adebayo takes accountability for Miami's recent struggles

The Miami Heat have struggled as of late, taking losses in six of their last seven matchups with their only win coming against the Brooklyn Nets. Amid their rough stretch, they've lost to non-playoff teams like the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks.

Injuries have certainly contributed to their poor play, as Tyler Herro returned to the injury list soon after being activated due to a toe injury.

That said, it was Bam Adebayo who recently took accountability for Miami's struggles following their last defeat against the Boston Celtics

Regarding his own play, Adebayo had this to say: “I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m accepting accountability. I’ve got to be better. I’m letting my team down, and it’s going to shift. Like I said, it’s going to shift. I’ve been through these times before. A lot of guys go through it. We’ll figure it out.”

Currently, through 22 games, Adebayo is averaging nearly a double-double with 18.5 points and 9.4 rebounds to go along with 2.5 assists and 1 block. That said, his shooting efficiency hasn't been as strong as expected.

Adebayo is averaging 47.2% from the field, a mediocre number for a center. Additionally, Adebayo is shooting 33% from three, lower than last season's average of 35.7%

Currently, Adebayo has six points on 3-for-6 shooting in the second quarter against the New York Knicks. A win would be critical for Miami, as they hope to improve on their current seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

After New York, the Heat will return home to face the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
