The Baltimore Ravens and tight end Isaiah Likely look to be preparing to part ways this offseason.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the Ravens have made no progress in extending Likely over the last eight months, paving the way for his departure in free agency.
Zrebiec does add that Likely's connection with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson does leave some hope for a return:
"Likely is extremely close with Lamar Jackson, so it’s hard to completely rule out a Baltimore return. However, over the past eight months, the Ravens made no progress in their efforts to extend Likely, and they’ve since paid Andrews. It would be extremely hard for them to have two guys making top-eight tight end money with all their needs elsewhere."
With Mark Andrews signing a three-year extension with the Ravens in December and Likely coming off a down year, it's hard to see a world where the young tight end remains in Baltimore.
If Likely does what is expected and leaves the Ravens, the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants should have interest in the 25-year-old.
Denver and New York could use upgrades at tight end, and though Likely didn't have a productive 2025 season, he is still incredibly talented and has the potential to be one ofnthe most productive players at his position in the sport.
Likely also has a connection to the Giants due to the hire of John Harbaugh as head coach, who coached the Coastal Carolina product in Baltimore for four seasons.
As for Philadelphia, the franchise could be bracing to lose long-time starting tight end Dallas Goedert to free agency this offseason. If Goedert departs, replacing him with a younger, likely cheaper player in Likely would be a savvy move by general manager Howie Roseman.
Spotrac projects Likely will land a two-year deal worth $17 million. That would be a bargain for a player who is ascending and hasn't reached his full potential, so Denver, Philadelphia, and New York should look to pursue Likely on the open market.
