The Baltimore Ravens will not be trading for edge rusher Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders after all.
Las Vegas announced on Tuesday that Baltimore backed out of the trade for Crosby, and it was later revealed that it was because the superstar edge rusher failed his physical.
"Welp: It’s not just players that can change their minds. Teams can, too. But clearly there is a reason, and Maxx Crosby still had to take and pass a physical coming off a significant knee injury," ESPN's Adam Schefter said.
With Crosby no longer heading to the Ravens, the team will have to find another way to address their need at edge rusher, and there is a free agent on the market who Baltimore could now target.
Trey Hendrickson is expected to make his free agency decision on Wednesday, and the Ravens could emerge as a serious threat to sign him with the Crosby trade falling through.
Though Hendrickson had an injury-riddled 2025 season and posted just four sacks, he's still one of the best pass rushers in football when healthy and would be an electric addition to Jesse Minter's defense. Baltimore also knows Hendrickson very well, as he spent five seasons with the Ravens' AFC North rival, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Baltimore doesn't have much money to spend in free agency, but they could pull off a stunner tomorrow and make a move for Hendrickson to bolster their pass rush after the blockbuster Crosby trade didn't reach the finish line.
