Andy Reid supports BYU at Big 12 Tournament amid NFL free agency

The Big 12 Tournament brought out the best in Kansas City. Big time BBQ from Gates to Joes, a new glass court and an Andy Reid sighting.

The Kansas City Chiefs coach took a break from NFL free agency to watch his alma mater, BYU, on the hardwood. He was preparing for the Cougars to come out swinging against the Kansas State Wildcats and got more than he bargained for at the end of the night.

AJ Dybantsa led the way for BYU, dropping 40 points in his conference tournament debut in the 105-91 win to advance. He was one of four Cougars in double figures, with 15 points from Kennard Davis and Robert Wright III adding 14.

As for Reid, the downtime was needed after the Chiefs made a splash to snag Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker II from the Seattle Seahawks. The top-tier running back will boost the offensive attack and give Patrick Mahomes another option out of the backfield.

The Chiefs also have three picks in the top 40 of this year's NFL Draft. Needless to say, they'll be filling out need positions past just running back in 2026.

BYU advances to face West Virginia on Wednesday night.
