Raptors linked to trade for Hall of Famer's son

The Toronto Raptors remain a team with a lot of interesting talent but not yet a true winning ability with this core.

Maybe they need a trade to get them there.

The Sporting News' Stephen Noh has found a connection that could work for them: the Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis.

Son of the Hall of Famer Arvydas, this Sabonis is a playmaking, left-handed big guy.

Noh things the Kings could trade Sabonis to either the Raptors or Bulls.

"The Raptors similarly could use an upgrade from Poeltl, which has them linked to both Sabonis and AD," Noh writes.

This has been an odd season for Sabonis.

He's averaging 17.2 points per game along with 12.3 rebounds. But his assist average has dropped to just 3.7 per game as the Kings run offense through him less.

The three-time All Star needs to be utilized effectively to get the most out of him, or he's a less exciting player.

If the Raptors sought him out, surely they'd find the best way to use him and try to maximize it, since they would've just gone out of their way for this move.

It's not obvious that Sabonis is a perfect player for every system, but at 29 and with tons of skill, Sabonis should be able to win in Toronto, if they could possibly pull off a trade to land him.
