The New York Yankees have been linked with several high-profile names this offseason, but the Bronx Bombers have not made any notable signings so far.
Following a second-half slump that saw the team finish behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East race with 94 wins, the Yankees have been strongly linked with a reunion with All-Star outfielder Cody Bellinger.
However, the AL East franchise is yet to strike a deal with their former star in free agency. Although the Yankees have had a quiet offseason so far, MLB insider Jack Curry feels it could all change very quickly.

Amid the Yankees' interest in Bellinger, the AL East franchise have also been linked with Japanese pitcher Tatsuya Imai over the last weeks. However, Curry feels that the 27-year-old Japanese free agent won't be coming to the Bronx.
“The vibe between Imai and the Yankees does not exist,” Curry said.Yankees face stiff competition in Cody Bellinger's sweepstake
While Cody Bellinger remains a "top priority" for the Yankees this offseason, the Bronx Bombers are facing competition from the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers for the All-Star outfielder.
According to recent reports, the Dodgers are looking for a reunion with Bellinger, who won the NL MVP with the team in 2019, to strengthen their outfield options.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays, who lost to the Dodgers narrowly in the World Series, have been one of most active teams this offseason. If the Yankees fail to re-sign Bellinger, they could pivot to Kyle Tucker, another All-Star bat who would be an expensive replacement for Bellinger.
