ESPN has taken part in a fun exercise that has analysts offering up trade proposals for certain players, and a beat writer plays the role of general manager and decides if they will take any of the offers.
First up on the docket is Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, who has been a major disappointment over his first two years in the NFL and has been a subject of trade speculation as a result.
Here's the four proposals from ESPN analysts for the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons thrown at Bills beat writer Alaina Getzenberg:
Raiders trade proposal
- Bills get: 2027 fourth-round pick
- Falcons get: Coleman, 2028 sixth-round pick
Ravens trade proposal
- Bills get: 2027 fifth-round pick
- Ravens get: Coleman
Commanders trade proposal
- Bills get: 2028 fifth-round pick
- Commanders get: Coleman
Falcons trade proposal
- Bills get: 2027 fourth-round pick
- Falcons get: Coleman, 2028 sixth-round pick
Getzenberg goes on to turn down all four of these proposals. Here's why:
"While the Bills would be intrigued by Walder's offer from the Falcons, the team is holding firm on Coleman remaining in Buffalo and rejecting all four offers," Getzenberg said.
"Coleman has said he understands what is on the line this season, and the Bills are currently committed to giving him this chance. Whether it can all come together in Buffalo, however, is still a big question," she added.
What did Keon Coleman say?
Coleman spoke to reporters at Bills OTAs recently and it's clear he understands the gravity of the situation he's in going into Year 3.
"For me, it's make or break," he said. "[If you are] s---, you might not be here. Simple as that, [simply] put, man. ... I know what I'm capable of. So, if I fall anything short of that, I'm doing myself a disservice and my team."
Coleman hasn't just struggled to be productive on the field, he has also gotten himself benched on multiple occasions.
The future is looking bleak for the former second-round pick, but it looks like he'll get another opportunity in Buffalo to right the ship.
He's going to have a tough time getting targets, though. The Bills added DJ Moore via trade and Skyler Bell via the draft this offseason and still have Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid.
Ranking the proposals
1. Raiders
2. Falcons
3. Ravens
4. Commanders
The Raiders and Falcons send picks in the same round, but Las Vegas' will likely be higher with the team in the midst of a rebuild, so that's why the Raiders' offer gets the top spot.
We give preference to the Ravens' offer over the Commanders' because Baltimore's includes a pick in the coveted 2027 NFL Draft, where as Washington's comes in 2028.
If we were the Bills, we would happily take either the Raiders' or Falcons' offers, but we'd probably hold out for more with the Ravens' and Commanders'.
