Rangers drop confusing Corey Seager injury update

3 hours ago 1

The Texas Rangers are 25-25 as of May 22, so they are right in the middle of the pack in the surprisingly crowded American League West division.

For the past couple of weeks, the Rangers have been trying to survive without star shortstop Corey Seager as well.

Seager, the former Los Angeles Dodgers star, is dealing with yet another hamstring injury. This marks the fourth IL stint for Seager in his career, and the third since 2023, so this has become a common issue for the 31-year-old.

In April, Seager was placed on the 10-day IL with a hamstring issue and he was out from April 23 until May 3. Then, he landed on the IL again on May 11.

Seager's 10-day period came to an end on Wednesday, but manager Bruce Bochy said he is still working his way back despite saying previously he had made progress, per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News

“We just want to check everything, check all the boxes off, make sure we don’t rush him and that we are doing everything we can,” Bochy said. “We want to make sure we don’t rush him. We want to get a little further evaluation and see if there is any adjustment we could do on the rehab, the strength and going forward.”

So, it's "progressing well" but now they are trying to see what else can be done, so it's a bit unclear. Then again, hamstring issues have been tough for Seager to deal with recently, so they are hoping he can find a way to shake these off and remain healthy.
