Rams running back Kyren Williams making history before 26

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams is climbing the NFL ranks quickly for a player just 25 years old.

On Wednesday, the Rams shared a stat that will catch the eye of fans who appreciate long-term dominance: since 2023, Williams has racked up 3,635 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns—all before turning 26.

In fact, since 2000, the only players age 25 or younger to reach 3,600+ rushing yards and 36+ rushing touchdowns over a three-year span are Adrian Peterson (twice, 2007–2010) and LaDainian Tomlinson (twice, 2001–2004).

Williams’ standout performance earned him a three-year, $33 million contract extension this offseason, delighting Rams fans. The question now is whether he can maintain this pace and etch his name into the record books.

Rams appear to be stumbling into playoffs

Williams was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice due to an ankle injury, while receiver Davante Adams and back Blake Corum were listed as non-participants in practice.

Head coach Sean McVay has previously stated he expects starters to play against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams have endured two tough losses in a row and are stumbling into the postseason.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford has also lost his lead in the MVP race to New England’s Drake Maye, according to betting odds.

There is some good news. The Rams designated Tyler Higbee to return from injured reserve.

While the Rams cannot win the NFC West, they still have a shot at securing the No. 5 seed as the best wild-card spot—but dropping to No. 7 would be disastrous.
