Rams' new defender makes four-word unretirement pitch to Aaron Donald

Is it really all that surprising that retirement rumors centered on former Los Angeles Rams superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald are running rampant?

Monday was an eventful day for Los Angeles, as the franchise made one of the biggest trades of the offseason thus far.

“Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on X/Twitter.

“In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns (we now know that the Browns will also receive a 2028 second-round pick and 2029 third-round pick).”

Uniting Garrett with Donald would make for a frightening defensive duo, prompting a recently signed Rams defender to make a four-word unretirement pitch to Donald on social media.

“Hit me big bro,” Jaylen Watson stated while tagging Donald.

Watson, who started his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, signed a three-year deal with Los Angeles in March and is attempting to make a lasting first impression by convincing Donald to return to the Rams in 2026-27.

Donald’s NFL resume speaks for itself, as he recorded 542 tackles, 111 sacks, and 24 forced fumbles in 154 career games with the Rams. The 35-year-old called it quits in 2024, and there’s no question there’s a 99.9% chance he’ll reach the Hall of Fame when it’s all said and done.

If Watson and the Rams play their cards right, they could make it a no-brainer decision for Donald to complete a second stint with Los Angeles.
