Rams HC Sean McVay gets served a 49ers troll during St. Tropez vacation

Sean McVay can't escape the San Francisco 49ers fans, not even on vacation.

The Los Angeles Rams head coach was having lunch during his French getaway when some 49ers fans decided to hijack his session. A video is doing the rounds on the internet where McVay gets the ultimate treatment from the fanbase of NFC West rivals in St. Tropez.

Rather than greeting him, the 49ers fans arranged for a bottle of champagne to be delivered to McVay's table with a sign having the Niners logo. Some girls sporting green attire also had a presentation made on an LED screen featuring the 49ers logo.

McVay took the trolling in stride. He also jumped out of his seat to greet someone behind while the 49ers fans carried on with their trolling.

As it appears, this time, the Niners' fans didn't need SoFi Stadium or Levi's Stadium to make their presence felt. A lunch table on the French Riviera was enough.

Sean McVay has played part in 49ers-Rams rivalry

The rivalry of the Rams and the 49ers extended to the head coaches, Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan, as both were once close coaching colleagues in the Washington Commanders' offensive staff, under Mike Shanahan in the early 2010s.

McVay became the Rams' head coach in 2017 and Shanahan took over the 49ers the same year. Their friendship soon became an intriguing storyline in the NFC West.

For years, the 49ers had McVay's numbers in the regular season. Shanahan's group won six consecutive games from 2019 through 2021. However, McVay avenged the losses by taking down the Niners in the 2021 NFC Championship game. The Rams erased a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit at SoFi Stadium and advanced to the Super Bowl.
