Raiders predicted to hire coordinator with No. 3 scoring unit as next head coach

The Las Vegas Raiders remain one of two teams that have yet to hire a head coach, along with the Arizona Cardinals.

Las Vegas' head coach options appear to be down to three as of this writing.

The team has held second interviews with Denver Broncos pass-game coordinator and quarterback coach Davis Webb and Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.

The third finalist is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who is slated to meet with Las Vegas again this weekend.

Of those three, Scott Kacsmar of 365Scores.com predicts that Las Vegas will end up hiring Kubiak as their next head coach.

"He’s done an incredible job with Sam Darnold this year, getting Jaxon Smith-Njigba open in a variety of ways, and he comes from that Kubiak/Shanahan tree that just factually improves quarterback play and makes their lives easier," he explained in his write-up for the Kubiak prediction.

Kubiak's resume is impressive and he's a great fit for what the Raiders need, which is an offensive-minded coach with experience and a history of success.

Along with coaching Darnold and JSN to great seasons, the Seahawks finished with the No. 3 scoring offense in the NFL in 2025, and Seattle ranked eighth in passing yards and 11th in rushing yards.

For a team set to use the No. 1 overall pick on quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Kubiak would be just what the doctor ordered.

But it remains to be seen if Kubiak will actually take the job.

It's no doubt a good sign that Kubiak is taking a second interview with the Raiders, but Essentially Sports' Tony Pauline reports that Las Vegas only has a 60-40 shot.

The biggest concern for Kubiak and all of Las Vegas' candidates is minority owner Tom Brady "looking over their shoulder and potentially second-guessing decisions," Pauline adds.

If the Raiders do ultimately land Kubiak, the move can't be made official until after the Super Bowl.
