Top tennis players, including Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, looked back on their 2025 memories on New Year's Eve. The 2026 season will get underway at the 2026 United Cup, but before returning to action, players shared their thoughts on the passing year on social media.
Iga Swiatek, who received a one-month doping suspension at the end of the 2024 season, had an eventful 2025. The Pole was disappointing on clay, her favorite court, but on grass, where she had struggled in the past, she emerged as the winner. She claimed her maiden Wimbledon title, beating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the final, and finished the season as the World No. 2.
The six-time Grand Slam champion shared a series of pictures on Instagram to highlight her 2025. She included her Wimbledon celebration, Cincinnati win, and also a picture with the No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz when the duo attended Rafael Nadal's farewell to Roland Garros at Court Philippe-Chatrier. Swiatek also penned a note, saying her Wimbledon triumph changed her life.
"I fulfilled dreams that at times felt far too distant," Iga Swiatek wrote. "These were moments and milestones I will never forget. Without hesitation, I can say that winning Wimbledon changed my already extraordinary life. I also learned important lessons and experienced a few difficult moments, but that’s the wheel of life. We experience, we reframe, we move on."Rafael Nadal, who retired at the end of the 2024 season, also highlighted his 2025 moments with an Instagram post, including pictures from his last visit to Court Philippe-Chatrier, where he bid farewell to the French Open. He also shared a picture of his golf outing with Roger Federer. The 14-time Roland Garros winner wrote:
"Thank you, 2025! ☺️Wishing you all the best for 2026! 💪🏼"Meanwhile, Coco Gauff shared a few pictures where she was seen enjoying her time with family and friends. The top-ranked American also included her two pictures from her French Open celebration, and wrote:
"A lot of dreams fulfilled, a lot of love shared, and a lot of gratitude. ty 2025✨"The World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz also took to Instagram to share pictures of his 2025 memories. The majority of his pictures were about his off-the-court activities with friends and family. He also followed Swiatek to include a snap of his visit to Court Philippe-Chatrier to attend Rafael Nadal's farewell ceremony.
"My real 2025 ❤️," Alcaraz wrote.Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner shared an Instagram video to highlight his 2025 memories and also wished a Happy New Year. Novak Djokovic shared a picture of his 100th ATP singles title win, which came in Geneva in May. The Serb's highlights included one of the Big 4 in Paris, where they paid tribute to Rafael Nadal.
Aryna Sabalenka, who defended her WTA No. 1 crown, shared 12 slides of four pictures each to define all months of 2025.
Iga Swiatek's Wimbledon heroics feature in WTA's top "snapshots from 2025"
The Women's Tennis Association also celebrated the passing year by posting the top "snapshots from 2025" on Instagram. The first picture highlighted Madison Keys' Australian Open triumph, followed by Belinda Bencic's win in Doha, and so on.
The WTA's snapshots also featured Venus Williams' return to court and Victoria Mboko's shocking win at the Canadian Open. Meanwhile, it also included a picture of the scoreboard from the 2025 Wimbledon final, where Iga Swiatek achieved several milestones against Amanda Anisimova.
The 24-year-old registered an emphatic 6-0, 6-0 win against the rising American at the All England Club. Iga Swiatek took just 57 minutes to overcome Anisimova as she registered a first double bagel in a Wimbledon final in over a century.
