Once LeBron James announced that he was going to the Philadelphia 76ers to start a new chapter, fans immediately started to campaign for the NBA superstar to be on Abbott Elementary.
On the red carpet for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, the Abbott Elementary creator spoke to Deadline and was asked if the 76ers star would make an appearance on the next season of the Philly elementary school-based show. Instead of sharing whether fans will see LeBron as a guest on the show, Brunson only gave a quick smirk before she walked away.
If LeBron were to be on the popular ABC show, it wouldn't be the first time that a professional athlete was featured. Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts appeared during the Emmy-winning show's third-season opener. He made a surprise cameo via a Zoom video call and brought along his Eagles teammates Jason Kelce and Brandon Graham for the "Career Day" episode.

His biggest film credit was the 2021 remake of the classic animated basketball film Space Jam: A New Legacy. He was also in the 2023 comedy House Party and the 2018 animated comedy Smallfoot.
Whether or not LeBron hits the set of Abbott Elementary, fans will see him soon enough when he makes his 76ers debut when he faces the New York Knicks on Oct. 20. The season six premiere of Abbott Elementary will be on Oct. 7 at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
