The Jets had drafted Quinnen Williams with the third overall pick during the 2019 NFL draft. The three-time Pro Bowler played in 98 games for the team in seven seasons and recorded 322 total tackles, 40.0 sacks, 59 tackles for loss, and 101 quarterback hits. This season, he had tallied 32 tackles and one sack for the Jets, who are 1-7 after their victory over the Bengals in Week 8.

Apart from Williams, the Jets also traded two-time All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Colts for two first-round picks.

Emmanuel Acho expresses excitement about Quinnen Williams' trade to the Cowboys

On Tuesday, the ex-NFL star turned analyst shared his thoughts on the Cowboys acquiring the All-Pro DT. He believes that the addition of Williams to the roster will help improve their defense, which is ranked second-from-last just above the Bengals.

"Now this is how you make a trade Jerry Jones," Acho said. "From here on, this is how you trade Jerry Jones. See Quinnen Williams, this is an earth shatterting type of move. And for everybody that's saying, 'The Cowboys are 3-5, why are you trading for him?' Get Quinnen Williams whenever the hell you can get (him). "This would have been a good trade in the offseason. I don't care that it happens inseason. ... This is a move all Cowboys fans should be hype about."

The Cowboys have had their own struggles on the field after trading linebacker Micah Parsons to the Packers. They are 3-5-1 after Monday's disappointing loss at home to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cowboys are next scheduled to face the Raiders on Nov. 16 after a bye week.
